Just a visit to my old friend Old Barney.
For a much larger more detailed view go here.
Coming back to AM3 after a long hiatus. I hope to be more active in the coming months.

Something so very romantic about lighthouses. Wonderful!

I'm always impressed at how simple the American lighthouses are, with often very little in the way of supporting buildings.

Nice shot, well done.

Can understand how folks get hooked on photographing these . . they make such strong visual statements. The smoothness of the light is more apparent in your larger version.

The horizon and the lighthouse don't match up ... geeze, I've been hanging around Ladybug too much :)
Pretty image though.

@Monterey John: Hi John...I'm not sure what you mean by they don't match up. I'm guessing you think it is tilted but I assure you it isn't tilted at all. It is just an optical illusion.
From the vantage point that I took this shot there is a land mass on the horizon looking North toward Island Beach State Park which can be seen looking across the inlet. In this view there is no open water on the horizon. The ocean is out of the shot far off to the right and around the jetty from there so the perceived "tilt" if that is what you mean is caused by the curves and unevenness of the land and sandbars jutting into the water on the opposite side of the Barnegat Bay. My camera has a built-in virtual horizon which I use so I know it is not tilted. Also if you look at all the verticals in the shot they are straight. I "saw" the same thing as you but it is definitely just an optical illusion created by the terrain on the opposite side of the bay. :)
