Thomisid Crab Spider

This little creepy crawly sitting pretty on a trumpet vine bloom is a thomisid crab spider. At least that is what my son Russell tells me and he is pretty good at identifying such things. He told me that they are pretty good at camouflage. I don't think this one was doing a very good job since I spotted it pretty much right away.

I missed posting last week...ooops! I was doing pretty well keeping up with posting once per week but last week was just a little too hectic and I didn't get around to it. I will try to do better but the next few weeks promise to be pretty busy as well.
