Fall is here for sure. As I write this post Sunday night the weatherman is calling for frost and freeze warnings during the night. The flowers that were still blooming will likely be done for the season. I think I will have to fire up the heat for the first time this season.

Rob has left for his 12 month deployment to Iraq over the weekend. The countdown has begun.

I still have a few weeds - thistles - showing bud here in London but I think it is just a brave face they are attempting. You've managed quite a strained look to this as befits the threshold of the season.

@Ronnie 2¢: Thanks...This was shot in the middle of the day in a gazebo with harsh dappled light all around and in the background I thought the dapples were interesting like little sparks in the air.

With first frosts coming this week even autumn is almost over here. Not my favourite time of the year, and I'm glad about every dot of colour in the woods. I like that little plant.
