One day, less then a year from now, I will be living a childhood dream to life and be a New Yorker. Some may still see 9/11 and shed a tear, and rightly so, it still hurts. But in this photo, I see hope, inspiration and home. Thanks for the photo.
I still wonder when the wrangling about the reconstruction of ground zero will come to and end. This place needs a decent monument, but the Port Authority's time scale reaches far into the future.

@MadScientist: I wonder too. I heard some reports just last week that it could be delayed for years to come. Estimates were anywhere from 2014 to 2039 in one report I saw in the local news. That is just crazy.
One of those sad events where those of us who caught the coverage ‘live’ can remember exactly where we were and what we were doing right then when it happened . . never to be forgotten.
Excellent shot, Laurie, and congratulations on making it into the Spotlight!
Our daughter lived on the 28th floor of the apartment building that's about 1/4 of the way in from the right hand side, the one with the sail right in front of it, back in the 80's. The building was evacuated and remained closed for over a year after 9/11.
