NJIO 15th Anniversary Concert V

This is another shot of Hyewon Kim from the NJIO concert series. I am particularly fond of this one. I thought it was such a great moment. I took this during the pre-concert warm up as they were doing the final run through of her solo piece. I thought it was sweet the way the conductor was looking at her with such admiration.

Lovely, lovely image. I particularly like the crispness of the left hand - I always am amazed that these musicians can find the correct notes without the use of frets - I struggle even having them on my guitar!

@dobbino: Thanks. Yes you are so right! My youngest son plays both the violin and the viola and I have no idea how he can play in tune without frets. Those instruments are also in fifths instead of sevenths which also confuses me.

Lovely, lovely shot. The lighting is perfect, as is the conductor's expression. I love the cello and listen to Pablo Casals almost weekly. If only I could learn to play at this stage of my life!

@Photome: Thanks. I played the flute many years ago. I am very very rusty and do not play much at all anymore. My kids are musicians and I am embarrassed to play anymore since they far surpassed me in their abilities.

You might like the one that is queued for April 17th which is an artistic interpretation that includes a flute and some flowers.
