This is from the same shoot as this one. It was taken in the yard, by the parking lot.

@Dawn Sutherland: Thanks.
Fantastic and the desaturation and sharp contrast makes it outstanding. Great find and perfectly framed in line with "Rule of thirds". :)

@Rahul: Thanks. I figured that there really was no other way but to go with black and white for this one.
Great b/W photo, well done.

It's one of those shots that just captures the imagination. Wonderful b/w. Fantastic image!!
12 Apr 2007 1:48am
@amy: Thanks. I was drawn to it because it was old and battered, and unlike the signs of today it was pressed as opposed to a reflective decal which gave it more texture and dimension.
Great shot Laurie! I like the great use of the b&w!

@Brittney: Thanks. I'm no stranger to crawling around rail yards. I am very fond of vintage railroad stuff.
Incredible capture in B&W.

My first thought was that it looked old and battered too! Color wouldn't work with the age of this signpost. It's a great shot!

wow fantastic one

@KM Faisal: Thanks.
Great capture, those style of crossing signs aren't as common as they used to be. Most of the ones from my area are probably on the bed room wall of some kid that decided to snatch them lol .

@Fred: Thanks. You are probably correct in that assumption.
This for me is an awesome well framed and edited image Laurie, tottally feeling this shot 100%
13 Apr 2007 11:18pm
Nice subject and composition!
14 Apr 2007 12:38am
I like that shot a lot. I think it is because of the "old touch" those signs have. And how sharp they are.
14 Apr 2007 6:47pm
Absolutely love the raw simplicity and the bright B&W.
15 Apr 2007 5:46am
Timeless b&w. I love it!
16 Apr 2007 12:34pm
As everyone has said.... SUPER B/W. Perfect, strong tones. I like the grungy feeling of this one.
