Iona Island Marsh II

Posted by Laurie (New Jersey, United States) on 26 February 2009 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

This is another shot from Saturday in Iona Island. This view is looking toward the former Naval Ammunition Depot turned Eagle Sanctuary where I shot the previous photo. In the previous photo these buildings would have been behind me.

You can read an interesting old NY Times article about a terrible accident that killed six men at the Ammunition Depot in Nov. 1903 by going here.

For more information on the area go here, here, and here.

For a much larger more detailed view go here.

Your comments are very much appreciated. I know how much time and effort it takes to visit and leave comments. I really do appreciate them.

I make every effort to reply to questions but sometimes I miss one or two and I apologize for that. If you really need me to get an answer to you quickly, the best way is to use the CONTACT button at the bottom of the page.

I post the same photos here as on Capturethisphotography.com but they are higher res. and landscape orientation shots are larger size.

I post only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
