The Tin KingPosted by Laurie (New Jersey, United States) on 18 December 2008 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio. These must be very popular this year. I have seen quite a few of them on my travels lately. This was also shot last Saturday afternoon while Christmas shopping in Chester NJ. See my new SLIDESHOW page. Your comments are very much appreciated. I know how much time and effort it takes to visit and leave comments. I really do appreciate them. I make every effort to reply to questions but sometimes I miss one or two and I apologize for that. If you really need me to get an answer to you quickly, the best way is to use the CONTACT button at the bottom of the page. I post the same photos here as on Capturethisphotography.com but they are higher res. and landscape orientation shots are larger size. I post only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

Nina from Hamburg, GermanyA beautiful christmas image, the light is perfectly captured, Laurie! 18 Dec 2008 5:50am dobbino from Cape Town, South AfricaCrisp, clear and colourful. Do you not have security folk hassling you when you walk around the shops taking photos? When I've tried to do the same for work reasons before, it's been a real mission. 18 Dec 2008 6:12am @dobbino: Thanks...actually the only place I had a hard time was at a University where it was part of the assignment. I had proper passes and permission to do it but the manager of the campus store still gave me a hard time and looked at me with suspicion. I just referred her to my contact at the administrative offices and said to call them if they had any questions about what I was doing and why, and then went on about my assignment. I did it without being disruptive as I used no flashes or tripod and stayed out of the way of patrons, of which there were only a few since it was still August and the term hadn't started yet so there were not many students on campus at that point. The places that I have featured here in this series are very amicable to photographers so they didn't hassle me at all. This particular shot was outside of the store near the entrance so it was more or less public domain anyway. MadScientist from Düsseldorf, GermanyNo wonder there are so many of them: they are quite pretty! :-) 18 Dec 2008 10:13am MontereyJohn from Salinas, California, United StatesAs usual, lovely comp, perfectly exposed yada, yada, yada (been a while since you heard that,eh?)
