Shopping Mall SantaPosted by Laurie (New Jersey, United States) on 14 December 2008 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio. Santa is probably getting pretty busy these days! See my new SLIDESHOW page. Your comments are very much appreciated. I know how much time and effort it takes to visit and leave comments. I really do appreciate them. I make every effort to reply to questions but sometimes I miss one or two and I apologize for that. If you really need me to get an answer to you quickly, the best way is to use the CONTACT button at the bottom of the page. I post the same photos here as on Capturethisphotography.com but they are higher res. and landscape orientation shots are larger size. I post only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

It's too bad that all those celebrations have become synonyms to "profit" ! 14 Dec 2008 1:53pm @Namaki: It is very true. The focus has definitely skewed toward one thing for so many. Tracey from White Hall, United StatesGreat capture of the before Christmas hype! Fab colors... 14 Dec 2008 2:28pm Monte Stevens from Fort Collins, United StatesThe Christmas season is a busy time and this image shows that. As one of your posters noted it seemed very American and the theme has a lot to do with money. There are so many photo opportunities to be found in the malls but the crowds keep me at a distance and selective on the times I go. And, I hate to admit it but the first thing I noticed was the Victoria Secrets sign at the top of the image and then after scrolling down I noticed Santa. :) Well done! 14 Dec 2008 3:57pm @Monte Stevens: Thanks...I usually avoid the malls. I was there to go to the Apple store for something otherwise I would have avoided it totally. It was not terribly crowded the day I was there as you can see. The first thing I noticed was the Godiva Chocolate store! lol Marcie from United StatesLove your point-of-view. So typical of christmas at the malls!!! 14 Dec 2008 4:22pm Querques from Palleja, SpainThis is great!. I like the detail of all the elements. 14 Dec 2008 4:29pm Jeffster from Long Island, United StatesWhat a beautiful and busy Christmas scene. All the elements in the image are well balanced. 14 Dec 2008 5:15pm Shirin Moosavi from Tehran, IranKids seem to be enjoying themselves! 14 Dec 2008 8:14pm Charles from New York, United StatesNice angle. I bet Santa gets tired after a full day at that mall! 14 Dec 2008 10:10pm Pepper from Montreal, CanadaWere you nice? I bet you are. Your photos say you are! 14 Dec 2008 11:28pm One from Açores, PortugalVery beautiful scene. The colors and light are fantastic !! 15 Dec 2008 2:20am @Rags: Lol! Maybe! You never know! I think the two adults are his "handlers". There were 3 people working with Santa. The ones in red shirts did the photography and the other guy in the Khaki seemed to be directing of the whole operation. Fliss from Melbourne Beach, United StatesNow that is one huge tree... forget the guy in red.. I like the "Godiva" store behind him.. hehehehe 15 Dec 2008 1:09pm dobbino from Cape Town, South AfricaBeautiful vibrant, happy colours. Looks like a great place to shop (lots of stores and not too many people). 15 Dec 2008 2:01pm Doum from Saint-Alexandre d'Iberville, CanadaWOW! GREAT! Excellent perspective! I'm surprised after opening the small vignette. All are perfect in this view (angle, color, idea). Bravo. 16 Dec 2008 1:25pm Rabbit from Richmond, United StatesCool! YOU fit the WHOLE tree in your image - Good for you! 16 Dec 2008 1:46pm dj.tigersprout from San Bruno, CA, United Statesoh! this brings back memories!!! (good ones of course!) the last time i saw Santa however was at the North Pole last year in Alaska... i even got to sit on his knee!!! :) 16 Dec 2008 3:22pm @dj.tigersprout: Lol...did you ask for a new camera? or lenses? did you get what you wanted? Barbara from Florida, United StatesHa! I mean Ho! Ho! Ho! A great image of Santa at the Mall. I love the vibrant colors and light. Ironically I had thought to go to our local indoor mall where there is a great pov like this shot and capture Santa. Most of our Malls are outdoor or open malls now. Santa must certainly have some tales to tell of his experiences this time of year. 18 Dec 2008 7:50pm Andrew Gould from Sydney, AustraliaA lovely clear shot. I certainly haven't come across anything this grand in a similar setting here this month so far. Beautiful detail. 19 Dec 2008 5:32am |
