Window ShoppingPosted by Laurie (New Jersey, United States) on 4 December 2008 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio. This was shot the same day as the 2 previous posts but at Peddler's Village in Lahaska PA. This shopping village is so beautiful during the holiday season and it was quite packed with shoppers this day. I love the way the stores' windows look this time of year and took quite a few shots of them while in the Village that evening. I thought this pottery was particularly sweet. I know there are some scratches and smudges on the windows which you can see in this shot. I decided to leave them rather than clean them up. I think it adds authenticity to the scene. For a much larger view go here. See my new SLIDESHOW page. Your comments are very much appreciated. I know how much time and effort it takes to visit and leave comments. I really do appreciate them. I make every effort to reply to questions but sometimes I miss one or two and I apologize for that. If you really need me to get an answer to you quickly, the best way is to use the CONTACT button at the bottom of the page. I post the same photos here as on Capturethisphotography.com but they are higher res. and landscape orientation shots are larger size. I post only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

The feeling of depth provided by the contrast between the foreground and background makes this special. The woman with her back turned to the viewer is an important part of the composition, too, as far as I'm concerned. 1600 ISO is child's play for your D700! 9 Dec 2008 7:20am Doum from Saint-Alexandre d'Iberville, CanadaSame from many other comments, I'm really surprised about the noise control of your D700; 1600ISO and clarity equal to my 400ISO, incredible. Charming composition! 9 Dec 2008 1:35pm bisha from Saitama, JapanBeautifully framed and I love the DOF, really highlights the items in the window. 15 Dec 2008 3:17pm danthro from Suburbia, United Statesi'm liking this series of christmasy shots, nice work 18 Dec 2008 9:26pm |
