Salt Marsh

Posted by Laurie (New Jersey, United States) on 21 October 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Shot the same day as the previous Sandy Hook photos. Sandy Hook is a really beautiful place especially when the summer crowds have gone. There are no amusement rides on boardwalks, games of chance, arcades, or fancy hotels, or rental houses. There is one Restaurant/Bar at the South end and a few snack bars here and there but that is about it.

What Sandy Hook does have is some pretty pristine areas for hiking, biking, roller-blading, and exploring. Beautiful beaches for swimming, water sports, and lots of fishing. There are some interesting historical points of interest including Sandy Hook lighthouse and Ft. Hancock and the North end along with views of NY. Oh and of course there is the nude beach...no I don't go there, at least not on purpose, although I did accidentally stumble upon it one very chilly early April day...and yes there were people in the buff on the beach even though I needed my ear warmers, gloves, and winter coat.

I will be away for a few days on assignment so I might not be able to respond to comments. I do have some photos cued up for posting while I am away.

See my new SLIDESHOW page.

Your comments are very much appreciated. I know how much time and effort it takes to visit and leave comments. I really do appreciate them.

I post the same photos here as on Capturethisphotography.com but they are higher res. and landscape orientation shots are larger size.
