Sandy Hook Butterfly 1Posted by Laurie (New Jersey, United States) on 15 October 2008 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio. Earlier this month I spent an afternoon in Sandy Hook. The day started out nice but was getting dreary by the time I got there. However the day was still not lost. I managed to get some decent photos because the light was not too harsh or too flat. The fall colors are definitely starting to pop, especially on the Goldenrod...ACHOOOO! and the very vibrant poison ivy...scratch, scratch...no I didn't actually get poison ivy, although there is plenty there...whew! The Monarchs were extremely active and there were plenty of photo ops with them. I am posting 2 of them. This one was taken earlier in the day under thin clouds in an open area. The next one was shot in a more wooded area, later in the day under a heavier overcast. See my new SLIDESHOW page. Your comments are very much appreciated. I know how much time and effort it takes to visit and leave comments. I really do appreciate them. I make every effort to reply to questions but sometimes I miss one or two and I apologize for that. If you really need me to get an answer to you quickly, the best way is to use the CONTACT button at the bottom of the page. I post the same photos here as on Capturethisphotography.com but they are higher res. and landscape orientation shots are larger size. I post only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
