Jersey City Pigeon

Of course no city would be complete without at least one pigeon. Funny thing is I don't remember seeing any others. Maybe they were at the concert I mentioned over in Liberty State Park.

This is a superb image, Laurie. I love the tones - can't quite work out whether you've manipulated them, or whether it was just the time of day? Whatever - lovely!

@dobbino: Thanks. No manipulation other than the usual converting RAW file and some curves adjustments. The sky was deep blue but since the pigeon was in shadow the sky was overexposed which gave the shot an almost black and white tonal range.

Awww - cute. Everytime i try to catch a picture of a bird it just flys away... I mean really all I need is for the bird to stay there 20 seconds... of a 50 second exposure.

This fella could be related to the one that stowed away on our cruise ship, he came with us all the way to the high arctic. a well traveled bird indeed.

Excellent composition and lines, Laurie. This one certainly grabs the viewer's attention. It amost looks monochrome, too, which is another plus, as it simplifies things and lets the eye appreciate the forms here.
