Hyatt

There is a lovely area at the waterfront in Jersey City with beautiful promenades and plazas that run along the Hudson River with beautiful views directly across from Lower Manhattan. The Hyatt is a luxury hotel right on the water in the heart of the waterfront and has wonderful views of the waterfront and Manhattan skyline. It seems like a nice alternative to staying in NYC since it is still close enough for tourists to easily get in and out of NYC via Ferry or Path trains.

Crisp, clear shot with lots of lines and contours. Lovely. Maybe the design of the Hyatt was inspired by the pattern in the paving, or vice versa?

@dobbino: Thanks. I'm not sure but my best guess is a lot of planning has gone into the design of the redevelopment of the city specifically the waterfront.

I like how the Hyatt sign and logo are reflecting the direct sunlight and are in the lightest part of the image. This really pulls the eye to the word Hyatt! Well done. Should be in a magazine advertisement for Hyatt!

I like the contrast between the warm colors of the hotel and the cold buildings in the background. Also the people in front bring life, again a contrast to the sterile background.

I just love the angle you shot this from. Just a hint of the buildings on the left gives great depth catching the Hyatt sign and folks walking through the plaza. Smart composition!

Great registration of modern city-life, I come across the name "Hyatt" every week with study cases but never stayed there.

@Ade Adesanya: Thanks. I am not from JC but I'm not too far from there. I love what they've been doing there. We know a few people who have left NYC and the suburbs to move into JC as well as Hoboken and other cities along the Hudson in NJ. I hope that other cities follow suit. I love to see these wonderful old neighborhoods restored. NJ is an expensive place to live and raise a family but I suppose it is still cheaper than Manhattan.

nice shot. for some reason the style of architecture doesn't fit with how i imagine a luxury hotel, it looks more like the architecture of some office buildings or some big box stores to me

@danthro: Thanks. Yes the new development along the waterfront is very modern and this hotel is right on the water. I did not walk all the way around it so I don't know what that side looks like...maybe I will go back next week.
