Skyscraper

This is one of the many skyscrapers in Jersey City. More are being built all over the city. There are construction sites everywhere. It's good to see in this city during these times.

Hi Laurie - I love the colours and the detail in this photo, and the sky is especially superb. Everyone's different, and for me I would have preferred to see this taken with a standard lens.

@dobbino: Thanks. I wanted to go for something different that what I usually see which was why I used the fisheye. I wanted an edginess to it.

It is nice to see that they are leaving "green" places, trees, bushes, etc. amid all the construction. Very nice photo.

@ankush: Thanks. I used the 10.5 Nikon DX fisheye lens. I needed it for an assignment and was unable to rent one in time so I bit the bullet and bought it. It was definitely worth it. The only regret is that being DX it will work best with my D200. I will still be able to use it on a D700 (my next camera) which is full frame but it will be a 6mp crop. So I will just use it on my D200 when I need the effect. I wasn't planning on getting rid of the D200 so it will work out ok. I only have 2 DX lenses the rest are FX and will work perfectly on the D700...When I finally get it!

I like this view with the wide angle lens - really dramatic and shows a bigger picture of the city - kind of like how I feel when I am in the city and overwhelmed with the sights and sounds.....
