Standing TallPosted by Laurie (New Jersey, United States) on 30 May 2008 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio. Thanks to all for the welcome home wishes, they really do mean a lot and warm my heart and soul. Rob will be home in NJ next week for a well deserved leave of 30 days or so. During his leave we will be celebrating Russell's graduation and 18th birthday so it will be extra special to have Rob home to share this time with us. I've been meaning to write about what it was like to experience the soldiers' welcome home ceremony on my other photoblog but I just haven't had the time to sit down to organize and chronicle the few photos I took of the event just yet. I will though, soon I hope, because it was really a very emotional experience. This is a photo that I took last Sunday at Monmouth Battlefield State Park. It was a a bright sunny day and it was about midday so the light was not entirely favorable for photography. I still managed a couple of shots that I liked well enough though. See my new SLIDESHOW page. Your comments are very much appreciated. I know how much time and effort it takes to visit and leave comments. I really do appreciate them. I make every effort to reply to questions but sometimes I miss one or two and I apologize for that. If you really need me to get an answer to you quickly, the best way is to use the CONTACT button at the bottom of the page. I post the same photos here as on Capturethisphotography.com but they are higher res. and landscape orientation shots are larger size. I post only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
