This was shot last March, exactly one year ago today, when we went to see Rob before he left for Iraq. It was the first night we got there and had to stay at a hotel just off the base in the City of Columbus GA. It was a long drive and we were pretty wiped out. We had gotten stuck in an hours worth of traffic just a few blocks from the Hotel which was very frustrating after such a long drive from NJ to GA. We could actually see the hotel from where we were stuck! I was tempted to walk to the hotel and check in!
There was a dining room, but no restaurant in the hotel where we were able to "hang out" and play cards, relax, talk, and catch up.
We only spent one night at the hotel and the rest of the time we stayed at the campgrounds on the base in one of the cabins where we enjoyed some private family time.
It's hard to believe a year has passed. But there is still 3 months left to his deployment. I am getting excited that it is almost over and we will see him again very soon. It will be an exciting June with Rob coming home and Russell graduating High School and getting ready to start college.
On that note we have some exciting news about Russell's college acceptances, but I will not be revealing his decisions just yet. Mainly because he hasn't quite decided where he will go and is still waiting on one or two colleges to respond. But at least we know he has some good options!
This photo of the Bucknell Quad is a 2 page feature photo in the Summer 2008 issue of Bucknell Magazine.
Your comments are very much appreciated. I know the time and effort it takes to visit and leave comments and although I don't get to reply to them nearly as often as I like, please know that I do really appreciate them. You are what keeps me going. I make every effort to reply to questions but I may miss one or two and I apologize for that. As of July 2008 I have decided to post the same photos here as on Capturethisphotography.com but check the archives for photos not posted here.

Fort Benning? Tell him thanks for everything he's doing. I've got a friend over there for the third time.
