In my quest to find fall colors and scenes I came across this display at a produce market. I do so love the fall and all it's rich colors.
Thoughts of cozy nights warmed by a mug of hot spiced maybe spiked cider, good friends and family gatherings warm my heart and take me to a beautiful place. I just hope life isn't so busy that fall passes with barely any notice.
The weather is still quite warm here and the trees are just starting to show hints of things to come. Fall is my favorite time of year.
Remember October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. I have some useful links posted on my other blog on this post.

@Behrooz: Thanks. Your response is funny because it makes me think of the rock group "Smashing Pumpkins". Of course I have no clue about their music, I've just heard the name.
This is so nice! Please, see my daughter's pumpkins shots! eleftheria.aminus3.com

@Dave MacIntyre: Thanks. I honestly don't know if that's a good price. They were really pretty so I think I would pay it, although I didn't buy any that day.

@lasiate: Thanks.
Brilliant orange! I prefer flat rate pumpkins myself, and will probably pick mine up on the weekend!
4 Oct 2007 7:19pm
@Walt: Thanks. I haven't seen flat rate pumpkins, unless they were already weighed and priced. Even the "pick your own" places weight them after you pick them. Gosh I haven't done that in years, since the kids were small.
Those are huge! Wonderful framing and composition!
5 Oct 2007 12:46am
@Stunner: Thanks. They were actually kind of medium sized.
Superb colours, did you buy one?
5 Oct 2007 3:26am
@Manuela Photography: Thanks. No I didn't buy any. It seems the squirrels love them too so I wait and buy them right before Halloween for carving and displaying. Although I used an artificial one last year because the squirrels were so bad.
stunning one

Laurie, funny that you should mention that I just got a referral for my mammo today! I am doing my part! On the subject of fall and pumpkins, this is a colorful feast for the eyes!

@Dawn Sutherland: Thanks.
Good! Always best to be on top of these things.
I find pumpkins a little creepy....I guess I've seen too many horror films.
6 Oct 2007 2:05pm
@Jasp: Awww...Pumpkins are so homey to me, unless they are carved all spooky.
Yeah... it's fall. Beautiful capture.

@Olaide: Thanks.
in the west-india (French antille) we use it for soup (another one from the same family)
6 Oct 2007 4:07pm
@Pouhou: Thanks. I've had pumpkin soup here as well. When it's made right it's pretty tasty. Also pumpkin ale is popular this time of year, but I'm not a big fan of that.
Beautiful shot! Great colour and detail!

awesome shot Laurie, how did you make the borders darker? did you do that in post processing?
8 Oct 2007 2:17pm
@ankush vimawala: Thanks. I did add a bit of a vignette on this one in layers. I don't do that all that often but it seemed to work for this shot.
Oh nice! Halloween one month before! :)
