Every September there is a scarecrow festival and competition in Peddler's Village in Lahaska PA. There are all sorts of creative contributions to the festival from traditional to wacky. This is a traditional scarecrow from the festival.

@Rabbit: Thanks. It is pretty cool. They've held one every year for I can't remember how long.
He looks like me when I don't get enough sleep (except that he's smiling)!

@Russ: Thanks. I get that same look and the smile is because I'm slap happy.
Ooo! this is brilliant Laurie, I haven't seen a scarecrow in years! I was hoping to go to a local Autumn show where they have a best dressed scarecrow competion, unfortunatly I'm going somewhere in the evening so can't make it. Hope you post more of these :)

I'm so glad Fall is coming. I'm a sweater person, so the weather is just right. Not to mention the colors are perfect for photography. I'll have to get back to Peddler's Village and New Hope. I haven't been there for years.

@Angry Buddha: Thanks. Fall is the best! I usually pass through Peddler's Village on my way somewhere else, but when I saw that it was the scarecrow festival I had to drop in even though it was late and some attractions had already packed up for the day.
Scarecrow, i learned another word! And saw a beautiful picture! Thanks!

@miu*: Thanks. No I haven't seen it. I will have to look it up. Maybe my son saw it. He is very into all things Japanese.
Cool shot...but I've always found these things really creepy...especially around dusk.
