Blustery Day on the Beach

This is from a few weeks ago, Now the days are getting cooler and the shadows longer and the beaches are all but empty. Summer is ending, fall will soon be here.

I love summer but I love fall more, well at least early fall anyway. I love the cool nights that are so great for sleeping.

pretty beach image - the darkish tones add to the lonely end of summer kind of feeling. Kind of makes me sad with a pang of excitement in the same way that as a kid the end of the summer brought on the unknown possibilities of a new year at school.

@Helen: Thanks. Me too, but you definitely have to dress for it. Ducking into a little pub for a bite to eat and a warm drink is always nice afterwards too.

It was actually fairly warm that day. It looks cold but it was pretty warm, only a light sweatshirt was needed.

It could possibly surprise summer vacationers from more northern or inland climes that there are distinct (if subtle) seasons on the beach. I really like your image and your thoughts attached to it today.

@Melanie: Thanks. I am glad you enjoyed it. It was a great day even as blustery as it was there was just something special. It was actually pretty warm too, a little misty since the salty water was blowing off the ocean. I had to clean my lens a few times.
