This little fella crossed my path while I was shopping for some garden furniture in Pennsylvania last weekend. He was also a rather plump little fella! Actually he was probably the largest cricket I've ever seen at about inch long.
I asked him "Excuse me dear sir, but would you please be so kind as to indulge me and allow the honor of taking a photo or two of you?"
To which he enthusiastically replied "Why of course, by Jiminy! I would be most pleased to oblige the lovely lady."
Ooh such flattery I though, and most happily I snapped away a couple of frames being sure to catch his very best side.
I could tell he was in a bit of a hurry; probably on his way to attend to some very important matters. So I thanked him kindly and bid him adieu.
With a quick salute, and a wink of his eye he said "Thank you Ma'am!" and he was on his merry way.

I know the time and effort it takes to visit and leave comments and although I don't get to reply to them nearly as often as I like, please know that I do really appreciate them. You are what keeps me going. I make every effort to reply to questions but I may miss one or two and I apologize for that. That’s macro mode with all its glory.
@badala: Thanks. Yes this wasn't a true macro, but this particular lens does have a "macro" range which is nice when shooting on the fly so to speak.

@Dave MacIntyre: Thanks.
Fine shot! PS the letters on the black backgound of your site are hardly legible.
3 Sep 2007 2:16am
@Wim van der Meij: Thanks.
In regards to the letters not being legible, are you talking about the EXIF data to the right of the photo? If that's the writing you refer to it lights up when you put the cursor over it. Otherwise this is the first I've heard any concerns about the print in the body of the posts.
I don't have a lot of control over it here on AM3 as I do on my other site and the other font colors with the black backgrounds do not suit me since I find them a little distracting.
I've got presbyopia (the over 40 eye condition that so many people over 40 people suffer from) and I don't have trouble reading it on any of my comps except for one of the old laptops we have, but it's got a terrible screen. I've not received any complaints about it until now. I am curious if anyone else is having trouble with it.
It's interesting but I find bright white fonts on dark backgrounds, or really black fonts on bright white backgrounds difficult to read with my old eyes. This form types bright white on dark blue where I type replies and I have trouble with it, however, gray/white font on dark backgrounds are easier on these old eyes of mine.
I'm sorry if you have trouble with it.
Wow! Laurie, this a fabulous capture!
