Lower Manhattan from Liberty State ParkPosted by Laurie (New Jersey, United States) on 26 May 2007 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio. This is a view of Lower Manhattan as seen from Liberty State Park in New Jersey. It is a slightly different view from this one that I posted a while back on Capture This. Yesterday was a very busy yet fun day. We took Russell to visit two more colleges, Lehigh University in Bethlehem PA, and Lafayette in Easton PA. He really liked Lehigh and so did we. Lehigh is a really beautiful campus and it feels like it may be a really good fit for him. He was not quite as taken with Lafayette and neither were we, but it still looks like a nice school. It just didn't get him as excited as Lehigh, which is now his current favorite out of 4 that we've visited with him so far. We love Pennsylvania and do spend a lot of time there. My parents lived just outside of Doylestown and my mom lives there still, so it is a comfortable place for Russell. We still have a pretty long list of colleges to check out and he's really starting to get excited and into the whole process of the search. It's actually kind of fun now if not a little scary. It seems as though every school that he's looked at, with the exception of West Point, tuition, room and board, and fees run about $45,000/year...YIKES!!! That seems to be the "going rate" for a decent private school. I don't know quite how we are going to do it, the tuition is up a lot since Robert was in college. Although he went to a State College, some of the same colleges he looked at and was accepted to were about $10,000/year less only a few short years ago. It's shocking to say the least. I want to thank everyone for visiting my sites. It really means a lot to me and I really feel bad that I haven't been around as much. I've been absent from visiting you all in a while but it's just been really hectic and I've not been able to squeeze time in to comment although I have visited as often as I can. I feel like I'm missing so much. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. It's Memorial Day weekend here and I hope all those who observe it truly remember the sacrifices it stands for, I know that I certainly will probably this year more than ever before.
