When I was in Liberty Park a few weeks ago I saw this full glass sitting abandoned on the walkway just like this. I thought it was rather curious and so I took this photo. Now granted there is a banquet hall and restaurant very near, by the Marina, but it was a little ways from where this glass was sitting. I still wonder if there was a story behind this glass.

@April: Thanks.
Consider it a toast that someone left to your photographic talent. I like the amber color and the reflections on the glass as well as the subtle upside down image. This is a simple but elegant image and a great find.

@Russ: Aww that's sweet. Thanks.
you've composed it well such that it adds to the mystery of that solitary glass being there...makes you wonder about the story behind it... :)

@Kairospix: Thanks. I think maybe a love story.
The lighting, composition everything makes this a fascinating photo. I like the emphisis on the liquid in the glass. There is definitely a story there. How is Russell doing now?

@photowannabe: Thanks.
Beautiful capture, and i am sure there is a story behind this glass there. Probably a couple fought with eachother and left hehehe.... and left the drink abandoned. Aiks, why waste alcohol haha... ;-)

@Jen: Thanks.
Did the glass tried to escape? Where does this road leads to?!
I like how the glass is full of warm colours, and everything else have cold colours. Great shot!

@alla: Thanks. I think someone may have left a wedding that was at a banquet hall that was fairly close by. Maybe they met someone at the wedding and had been taking a walk with them and maybe sat down for a few minutes and then just forgot it was there.
There is just a marina that runs along the walkway and the walkway ends at the end of the marina.
simply very well done , congrats

@Michel: Thanks.
Very nice capture, Laurie. The way that you composed this, with ample space around the glass, adds to the abandoned feeling. I have come to look at all objects, be them alive (nature/people) or not, as having a story or memories which they hold. It adds another dimension to life.

@Diane - Daily Walks: Thanks. So true.

@DTW: Thanks.
Love how the sunset was captured in the liquid, it hints at the question of whether it has been sitting there all day.

@Dawn Sutherland: Thanks. I didn't check to see if it was still cold. There was no condensation but it wasn't humid that day.
A "found" image. Images find us, we don't find them. Very nice.

@jasp: Thanks. Glad you found the time to take a look and comment.
Very interesting - love the colours reflected in the glass.
I was at a rather posh party recently and people got tipsy, and a similar scene could be seen on the garden... glasses just standing there.
20 May 2007 5:38pm
@Mia: Thanks. There was a wedding at a nearby banquet hall that is located in Liberty Island State Park and I assume that's where it came from. It was still in an odd place as there were no benches or seats anywhere nearby.
Stunning! simple and beautiful .
