This is from an orchestra concert back in January. Before the concert while I was shooting the warm up I had noticed this interesting graffiti up on the wall high up by the catwalk where all the riggings and such were. I'm sorry if I don't know the proper stage terms for what that area is so please bear with me. I didn't have the opportunity to really get a good look until after the concert as the stage was being cleared of chairs and music stands. I decided it might just make for an interesting composition so I shot it and this is the result.

*I am slowly moving my archives from my other site here since I am having some trouble with Blogger and broken archives, lack of support, etc. The migration will take some time and if you visit my other blog you will likely see some redundancy.
This photo of the Bucknell Quad is a 2 page feature photo in the Summer 2008 issue of Bucknell Magazine.
Your comments are very much appreciated. I know the time and effort it takes to visit and leave comments and although I don't get to reply to them nearly as often as I like, please know that I do really appreciate them. You are what keeps me going. I make every effort to reply to questions but I may miss one or two and I apologize for that. As of July 2008 I have decided to post the same photos here as on Capturethisphotography.com but check the archives for photos not posted here.
Love this one.... it's these moments that makes us takes a personal insight, that nobodys understand. You were there for the Show... but at every corner there "other" shows.
Great One!

@Ins@no: Thanks.
Great capture laurie - wonderful night shot - well done - I love all this guerrilla art!

@Jerry: Thanks. I thought the location of the graffiti was interesting. I don't think it was recent either, I believe it to be older.
This is a super shot. It tells a whole story with the rigging and the spots on the wall. I like the way the spots highlight the graffiti and the rest is shadowy.

@photowannabe: Thanks. I think the textures and shadows that were created by the lighting were what really caught my eye first.
Excellent. Technically, this is beautiful at ISO1600 and very sharp at 1/60. The shot itself is a fine piece of street photography.

@Michael Zhang: Thanks...I was a little surprised at the sharpness too since the lens I was using was also quite large and heavy without Vibration Reduction as well as handheld. I think the shot was just "meant to be".
Hi Laurie, I left you a note over at Blogger re your son.
As for aminus3, I agree, this is a better format, and as you know, i have been paralleling here http://montereyjohn.aminus3.com/ for some time.

@MontereyJohn: Thanks for the well wishes over at Capture This. I will share them with Rob, if he hasn't looked at them already.
Yes I did see that you were paralleling here.
I originally wanted it to be a different set of photos and largely it is, but after some of the issues I'd been having with Blogger, I decided to start being proactive and just move some past posts here to the archives. I like the archiving system better here as well, it offers a little more info without opening page after page.
The only drawback here is that Aminus isn't able to work with an outside server at this point so I cannot use my .com domain the way I would like. I could do a redirect but then it wouldn't show my .com in the url. I also have a lot more control of my template on Blogger. I can make a completely unique one that is suited for my needs. If I only knew code I could really go nuts and make it really interesting.
Lovely light.... very cool.

@Azhar: Thanks...glad you like it.
My initial impression was Phantom of the Opera. Nice.

You're not good in capturing street photos mmh? Liar! Such a very nice shot! :)

@Tim: Ahh but Tim this is actually from backstage at an orchestra concert...lol. So technically not a"street photo".
Thanks though I got a good smile from this comment. :-D
Wow you found that quickly too!
