Locked OutPosted by Laurie (New Jersey, United States) on 3 February 2007 in Miscellaneous and Portfolio. This weekend has been an up and down and up again weekend so far and we still have Sunday to get through. Friday night Jon had a violin recital and played very well and we are very proud of him. His teacher was very pleased as well. All the kids played really well and it was really a nice evening. They should all be very proud. Melissa, Jon's teacher, is fantastic and she played as well. When she plays violin, it's like the angels in Heaven singing. She's so talented. She's an awesome teacher and the nicest, sweetest person one could ever know. Today was a tough day. Jon auditioned on violin for the CJMEA Region II Intermediate Orchestra. It was his first time and it was most stressful. There were 139 kids auditioning for 48 spots and most of them sounded like they were born with violins in their hands. The down side is he didn't make the cut...Oh well...He will keep working hard and try again next year. He seems ok with it and he isn't discouraged. I talked to my son Rob tonight He's been unable to communicate with us for a few weeks while doing some field training. It was really good to hear his voice...I really miss that kid! This shot just seemed kind of appropriate...ok...I didn't have anything new for the photoblogs so I went to the archives for it and it seemed to fit. I've been busy working on other things, including some photos for the orchestra's which has kept me a bit busy. I've also been busy with other orchestra business and a few other things. Tomorrow I hope to relax a bit and go to a Super-Bowl party and just have a good time. I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their weekend as well.
