Golden Leaves

Well the leaves have all fallen and the gorgeous Autumn colors are yielding to the gray of the impending winter. This years autumnal burst of color was the best I think I've seen in years. I am sad to see it end.

Thursday is Thanksgiving in the USA and I would like to wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving.

hey,
laurie dont you think this template is a bit too dark,its tough to get around,
that said,the dark template REALLY enhances the shot,
lovely shot...!!

@shiv: Thanks. I tend to agree that the black is too dark, but it does make the colors pop nicely. I wish there was a bit more flexibility in choosing font color and style, but if there is I haven't found it yet. I am trying it out to see how it is. There are other color backgrounds and they come with different font colors so maybe I will switch it up a bit until I find one that works best.

I like the copper colour without the shine. It's a very warm colour even though I'm sure its starting to get cold. Did you make this Sepia?? I can't tell especially with the changing leaves. I'm a huge fan of darker shadows so I'm impressed by this photo.

@Colour blind: Thanks...I did not use sepia for this one. I processed it a few weeks back and, if memory serves me, I only did a small curves adjustment on this one, and I think I cloned out a small bright spot that was distracting in the lower left of the frame. The light was beautiful the day I shot this and the leaves were indeed golden and with the light falling the way it did it just made for delicious tones. I was in the woods which made for wonderful dappled sunlightlight and deep shadows.

@Suby: Thanks...I think I post shots that aren't as personal here, I don't connect with them as muuch as the other site. These shots, for me. are more "generic", so while they are aesthetically pleasing, they are less emotionally connected to me. It's kind of hard to explain.
