Underwater Photography?Posted by Laurie (New Jersey, United States) on 20 November 2006 in Animal & Insect and Portfolio. Well...not quite. A few weeks ago I went to the PhotoPlus Expo in New York. It was a very interesting event. I saw lots of interesting things there and my wish list is now beyond comprehension. I really was most interested in the Epson Pro 3800 Printer, but I also think I found my next lens...but shhhh...don't tell my husband. Near the entrance to the Expo floor was this display which drew the attention of many of the attendees. I thought it was pretty cool so I tried to get a turn at shooting it which was a little difficult since there were a gazillion photogs there trying to do the same thing...go figure. At any rate it was a clever display and had all sorts of optical devices including binoculars, cameras, etc. The toughest part of this shot was trying to find a perspective that didn't distort too much since it was a cylindrical tank. I also had to find a spot that wasn't too smudged with fingerprints. I thought the fish facing me was funny he/she looked like he was laughing at us. They didn't stay in one spot very long either. ***News Flash*** There is a new up-and-coming young photographer I want people to know about. His name is Ben and he is 14 years old. His photoblog is aptly named "14 Years". I think this talented young man has something special and he deserves to be followed closely as his style and talent develop. So please check his work out here. Please visit my other photoblog Capturethisphotography.com See my new SLIDESHOW page. Your comments are very much appreciated. I know how much time and effort it takes to visit and leave comments and although I don't always get to reply to them, please know that I do really appreciate them. I make every effort to reply to questions but sometimes I miss one or two and I apologize for that. If you really need me to get an answer to you quickly, the best way is to use the CONTACT button at the bottom of the page. I post the same photos here as on Capturethisphotography.com but the images there are higher res. and recent landscape orientation shots are larger size.
