Droesher's Mill in Fall ColorPosted by Laurie (New Jersey, United States) on 7 November 2006 in Architecture and Portfolio. Thank you for indulging me for my lighthouse shots from the Lighthouse Challenge. I love lighthouses as you all probably realise by now. Thank you also for my son's birthday wishes. It was a lovely day and he enjoyed it very much. To answer the quesions about polarizers, yes I use circular polarizers almost every time I shoot outside to cut down on glare and to give the skies and other colors more pop. Anonymous...thanks for the suggestions. I actually have shot all of the places you mentioned, save for the one in Sterling Forest which I will have to check out. The gun baterries in Sandy Hook are indeed interesting. I will have to dig through my archives to see if I managed any decent ones. The covered bridge was one of my earliest posts, and it was "lost" when I transitioned to a .com and outside hosting. I had several early posts based on Bridges, all of which were lost when I transitioned. I am planning on re-visiting those spots in the future now that I have a better understanding of shooting digital, and a better digital camera. I grabbed this shot last Thursday afternoon after finishing up my errands. I drove past it on my way to do my errands and thought the trees were just so stunning I knew I had to stop back there when I finished the errands and before picking up the boys from school. It is an old mill that is now office space. I had to shoot this through the iron railing that tops the bridge where I stood. It was a little difficult to get a decent angle through the railing. This view is the prettiest since it makes the mill look much more isolated than it really is. Please visit my other photoblog Capturethisphotography.com *I am slowly moving my archives from my other site here since I am having some trouble with Blogger and broken archives, lack of support, etc. The migration will take some time and if you visit my other blog you will likely see some redundancy. See my new SLIDESHOW page. Your comments are very much appreciated. I know how much time and effort it takes to visit and leave comments. I really do appreciate them. I make every effort to reply to questions but sometimes I miss one or two and I apologize for that. If you really need me to get an answer to you quickly, the best way is to use the CONTACT button at the bottom of the page. I post the same photos here as on Capturethisphotography.com but they are higher res. and landscape orientation shots are larger size. I post only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
