The Great SwampPosted by Laurie (New Jersey, United States) on 26 October 2006 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio. This shot was taken last Saturday afternoon on a walk through the Great Swamp Wildlife Refuge. It is just that, a swamp. There are walkways, like this one, that wind their way through the swamp to observation blinds set up for bird, and wildlife watching. There wasn't much in the way of wildlife around when we were there, but it was a beautiful day. The leaves, what was left of them, were very pretty and as you can see the sky was a beautiful blue. A little note on my last post; I was thrilled with how well it was received and I thank everyone for the wonderful feedback. I was feeling much better when I took it, I wasn't really sick anymore but that was how I did feel when I was sick. I plan on doing some more in the theme of suffering, but they are really in no way a reflection of me and how I am. I am pretty up-beat, most of the time, and reasonably well adjusted. These are just experiments into showing emotions through self portraiture. I plan on following that theme with one on Joy. Please visit my other photoblog Capturethisphotography.com *I am slowly moving my archives from my other site here since I am having some trouble with Blogger and broken archives, lack of support, etc. The migration will take some time and if you visit my other blog you will likely see some redundancy. See my new SLIDESHOW page. Your comments are very much appreciated. I know how much time and effort it takes to visit and leave comments. I really do appreciate them. I make every effort to reply to questions but sometimes I miss one or two and I apologize for that. If you really need me to get an answer to you quickly, the best way is to use the CONTACT button at the bottom of the page. I post the same photos here as on Capturethisphotography.com but they are higher res. and landscape orientation shots are larger size. I post only on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
