Is open! There is a funky bar/night club located on the waterfront in Jersey City next to the Marina in the previous shots. It is quite large and has a lot of outdoor areas complete with plastic palm trees, a sand beach, and some unusual furniture. We were there early in the afternoon so it was pretty quiet but judging from the looks of the place it is probably hopping at night especially in the summer. We stopped for a beer at one of the outside bars. We did not venture inside although it must be quite large with 2 dance floors and several lounge and dining areas.

I want to take a moment to say thanks to the people who sent me supportive emails and messages. It means a lot to me.
I remember a funny phrase my dad once told me "Remember, cream always rises to the top but sometimes so does sh**. But you can always tell the difference."
I have taken my VFXY account out hibernation and re-activated it.

Your comments are very much appreciated. I know the time and effort it takes to visit and leave comments and although I don't get to reply to them nearly as often as I like, please know that I do really appreciate them. You are what keeps me going. I make every effort to reply to questions but I may miss one or two and I apologize for that. As of July 2008 I have decided to post the same photos here as on Capturethisphotography.com but check the archives for photos not posted here.

@JJ: Thanks. I agree. It was really quiet and pretty much deserted when we were there but all indications were that it is hoppin' at night. I like to just have a peek. But it's probably a really young crowd and too much for me. I feel soooo old!
Can't miss the sign can ya? Nice shot.

@Jen: Thanks. I don't remember seeing any other signs either. I may just have missed them though.
From outside it looks a bit like a forbidden area, but accoding to your writing I think it's the place to be. :-) So sorry about your trouble with that 'ranking expert'. Seems to be a whole new class of trolls emerging there, quite annoying!

@MadScientist: Thanks...It was/is a very odd place. I am tempted to go back next summer to check it out in the evening. It is probably a very young crowd and this old gal will probably be way out of her element!
It is annoying but don't worry about it, it's being handled and I have no worries! Trolls are always outed in the end.
Une brune pour moi, et sans faux col !

@Alun Lambert: Thanks.
Did you get any shots from the bar? Sounds interesting...

@Daryl: Thanks. I got a few. It wasn't that interesting. I think if there were more people it would have been very interesting. The next one shows some of the funkiness of it. I did not go inside. I only was in the outdoor area.
Great shot, and that new lens has an incredible sharp field over the whole frame.

@Observing: Thanks. That is one of the things I fell in love with that lens for.
This looks like it would be at home in Florida or any coastal place. Cool sighting.

Love the effect in here, great shot!

Wow! That the lens does wonders on just about anything, doesn't it! Of course, it takes a capable photographer behind the camera, too, and you've certainly up to it, from what I can see!
